Santa sent greetings from Spain

Extremely good weather (and a garden that is busting out weeds faster than I can yank them out) is keeping me from posting more than minute blurbs of chestnut forest living. But a delivery from Spain especially made my day since it contained several much-anticipated items. Jamon iberico de Bellota, handmade terra cotta plates, bomba rice, saffron from La Mancha and seville orange marmalade. We're having paella this weekend!

ooh yum!
Kat - I didn't realize how BIG that pan would be...it said that it makes enough for 8 but when I looked at it (17"/43cm diameter), I'm like....that looks big enough to feed at least 10!
now if we really were neighbors, we'd help you eat :)
Now that is what I call a parcel worth waiting for :-) and like K and S .. I am sure we could all help you eat your Paella !!
Will you be making a seafood paella or the meat variety one? Those terracota dishes are great! How I wish I were in your neck of the woods! I haven't had paella since last summer!
Hey, on the post above....I'm considering coming to Bra for the cheese event. Any good travel advice?
Nice! I love paella!
Kat - you would also be the recipient of a lot of different tomatoes, zukes and mirabelle plums! (the stuff that we get way too much of come harvest time).
Anne - I will have to make room in the fridge pre and post paella making. Space for the ingredients and then space for the leftovers.
Bella - nope, the tourist "mixta" or atleast that is what I've seen it referred to as. The valenciana version intriques me for the addition of snails, but I can't bring myself to working with live gastropods without getting grossed out.
carlae - the only advice I can give you is to scour tripadvisor forums. It has been 4 years since we attended the last event, and all I remember is that there were too many things to see and not enough time. I hope they do the street food carts again!
Holly - I've never made it since I'm stubborn like that and insisted on getting a pan first. With the size of this one, I could feed the whole ohana back home (I may as well bring it back with me on the next visit!)
