Granola and hot milk?

Forgive me for living under a rock, but I thought granola was a cold milk cereal sort of thing. It took a country other than my own to tell me that with hot milk/latte caldo, granola is supposed to be very good? So I tried it and came away with only one thought. Kellogg's puts way too much sugar/inverted sugar in this cereal. Hot milk extracts more if it into a sickly sweet liquid. Che schifo.

make your own :so easy!.
Kat - it would be you to set me on the right path, and I used to make my own until I started getting lazy. But...after seeing the word sugar in one form or another for SIX TIMES in the ingredients, I better rethink that lazy attitude.
I make mine because it is way too expensive to buy here and I can control the sugar :)
Rowena, I'm not a granola fan and I know for a fact I would never hot milk to it. I've noticed that the cereal boxes in Europe encourage all sorts of weird mixes. I have a cereal of Frosties in front of me now and it suggests I might want to try it with chocolate milk or yogurt. I don't think so! :)
I like making my own. It is great during the cold winter months. I usually eat a lot of it for breaky in December. It is so cosy and yummy to curl up with a hot bowl, some tea by the fire and watch xmas classics.

Bella - my own weird european mix....Kellogg's Choco Krave blitzed with vanilla gelato and milk ala McFlurry!
Murissa - with the way the weather is behaving now (fog and rain), it may as well be xmas. Is summer already over?
I'm allergic to all kinds of milk but the thought of granola with hot milk is extra yucky to me!
Welshcakes - you could have fooled me. Those extravagant gelato creations from the bar? None of those photos depicted milk-based desserts?
My favorite breakfast cereal is Grapenuts with milk.
Nate - I don't believe Grapenuts crossed the pond to the old country. Used to be my favorite breakfast cereal too.
