Two hours ago I might have said that this banana-flavored treat was the best fake-tasting popsicle that I've had so far but now I'm not so sure. Why? Because I'm feeling slightly nauseous with a weird taste in my mouth that won't go away. Campari always does the trick.
Okay, here come the puns. Why do companies keep slipping customers this stuff? What is the appeel? I found one reviewer online who wasn't exactly doing cartwheels and splits over the Banita and boy did he have plenty to say (267 words to his credit). The bottom line is you get what you pay for at 8 Banitas for 3.59€. Saturday will close the week on another gelato post so in the meantime, T.G.I.F. with this classic, classic scene from Beetlejuice.

Rowena, I'm sorry the fake banana pops made you ill! I love that you're writing these honest reviews! I'm not really a ice cream pop kind of person but I'm sure this would not be a flavor I'd want to try. Yay for the Beetlejuice clip! I thought that movie was so cute! :)
Happy Weekend! Hope you find one flavour that "appeels" to all of us. Seems like you are a fruit girl, maybe try a nutty flavour? Last weekend I tried whisky cream in gelato form and it was the best I have had in a long time.

Danielle - odd how banana is not a very common flavor at the really good gelato places. I always make a point of trying it if I see it.
Bella - 2 more weeks to go of this crazy self-imposed gelato quest. How do I ever get myself into these things?
Murissa - there is a sicilian almond flavor that I've got my eye on but I think the next tasting will be coffee granita and a brioche. For breakfast.

Kat - get this...the yellow hard coating sort of grinds down to a waxy substance that reminded me somewhat of those syrup-filled waxed candies that I used to eat as a kid? Remember the coke bottle shaped ones? Anyway, you get this sensation of teeny tiny wax bits in your mouth that eventually dissolve. What a bunch of fake cr*p!
OMG! I remember flattening out that wax to make "fake nails" with them...eesh, hope you didn't get too sick!
